Even if you are only passing through, there are some great RV parks that are worth a visit. Kansas is a great place for a low-key relaxing vacation.

USI RV Park – Wichita, Kansas

This RV park offers a quiet respite in the middle of Wichita. Filled with shady trees and flowers, the park has been offering comfortable RV sites for 30 years. Here you will find exceptionally clean shower rooms and a fantastic laundry. Want to host a reunion? They have an event hall available for rent. USI RV is just 2 minutes from Hwy 96 and is close to restaurants, museums, movie theaters and shopping. The park offers large pull through sites for big rigs along with small pull through for little RV’s.

USI RV Park is the perfect base to explore Wichita’s amazing riverfront museums, including Cow Town and the famous statue, Keeper of the Plains. Take a drive 30 minutes north and explore the Amish community of Yoder, as well as Strataca, the historic underground salt mines.

Prairie Band Casino & Resort – Mayetta, Kansas

Need a break from the kids? The Prairie Band Casino is the place for you. Their RV Park offers 67 large pull through sites with full hookups. There is a picnic table at each site, along with showers, restrooms, and laundry for guests. The Casino provides 24 hour security so you can rest well knowing you are safe and secure.

Ready for some fun? Grab the 24 hour shuttle to the casino. Prairie Band is known for its live music, entertainment, and of course, the games! If you’d rather be outside, grab your clubs and head to their 18 hole golf course. This course was recently rated one of the best courses in Kansas.

Washington City Campground – Washington, Kansas

Follow highway 36 along the border of Nebraska and Kansas. Smack in the middle you will find Washington, Kansas. This small town offers the throw back feel of Mayberry, and the city RV park is only $15 a day for sites with water and electric hook-ups. The RV park offers a fantastic kids playground and brand new swimming pool. There is also a large covered picnic area and fishing along the creek. Come in June for the annual rodeo, or in late July for the old fashion county fair.

Across the highway you can walk to the historic Washington downtown. There are several restaurants, a brewery, and an espresso shop along with a grocery store, florist and some spa/salons. A great trip for a day or two.

Cheney State Park – Cheney, Kansas

Windsurfing or sailing anyone? At Cheney State Park Kansas puts their famous wind to good use. Guests will be amazed by the abundance of activities at the park. In addition to a large lake with numerous boat launches, ramps, and fish cleaning stations, the park is also great for hiking, biking, and bird watching.

Cheney State Park offers 223 sites with water and electric hook-ups along with over 4oo primitive sites! There is a public dump station along with restrooms, shower house and group picnic area.

High Plains Camping – Oakley, Kansas

This family friendly park offers mini-golf, a pool, and an on-site pub. Bring your pets because there is also a fenced dog run. Hidden in northwest Kansas, this campground has sites for every size rig including pull through spaces. It offers full hookups and modern shower and restroom facilities.

The park is located in Oakley, the former home of  Buffalo Bill. While in Oakley check out Monument Rocks, the Western Vista Historical Byway, the Fick Fossil and History Museum, and Prairie Dog Town featuring over 8,000 prairie dogs plus a 40 animal petting zoo and a gift shop.

Curtis Creek Campground – Junction City, Kansas

Take a break from the heat at the Curtis Creek Campground. This Army Corp of Engineers campground offers both electric and non electric RV sites, and well as water hookups and a dump station. The campground is family friendly with showers, toilets, playgrounds and picnic space. Milford Lake is in close proximity to the campground, and with over 15,000 acres of water, there is a lot of open space to enjoy. Plan to fish, boat, ski and even windsurf. If you’d rather stay on land you can hunt or hike all around the lake. The perfect Kansas campground for a great getaway.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park – Topeka, Kansas

Topeka is home to a whole lot of history. If you plan to visit the state capital be sure to stay Deer Creek Valley RV Park. This highly rated park is popular for a reason. Offering 59 RV sites with full hookups, free cable, free WiFi, and large clean showers and restrooms. Need to do your laundry? No problem, the park has its own laundromat. Worried about security? No problem. The park is surrounded by a security gate. Kids will love the park’s huge pool and playground. Dogs will enjoy the fenced dog run.

While in Topeka be sure to visit the Kansas Museum of History, the Combat Air Museum, and the Kansas Speedway. Kansas has just finished a major remodel on their capital building so be sure to check it out and see the famous wall length mural.

This park has the old west charm that every western lover will enjoy. Choose from full hookup RV parking, bunkhouse rentals, or tent camping.
