Palm trees, coastal highways, and seemingly never-ending sunshine – these are just a few of the reasons people love to travel California. What’s on your list of things to do when you visit California – driving through the Redwood Forest? Camping in the Mojave Desert? There are hundreds of reasons to visit California, and one of the best reason (we think), is that it’s an RVers paradise.
Picture it: you’re cruising down the PCH with your windows down, letting the fresh Pacific Ocean air flow through your RV. Then, you pull over for the night at a seaside campground or one of these other amazing RV parks in California. After dinner and a few smores around the campfire, you head to bed to get some rest for the big day tomorrow – the RV show.
California’s RV shows are some of the largest and most exciting outdoor shows in the country. Whether it’s the pleasant climate or its diverse landscape that attracts people, it’s undeniable that California is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. As such, dealers and manufacturers come by the hundreds to show off their best RVs, camping gear, and everything else outdoor recreation. We’ve rounded up a list of the top RV shows in the state. Don’t miss out!
The Annual Manufacturers’ RV Show and Sale
2018 marks the 30th year for this popular RV show. It takes place at the picturesque Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. Rolling green hills and views of the San Francisco Bay surround the fairgrounds, setting a beautiful backdrop for the show. Pleasanton is about an hour east of San Francisco, which offers plenty of opportunities to spend a day exploring the city before heading to the RV show. Make sure to start planning your visit early, as the show fills up quickly and it can be hard to find a place to camp nearby.
What You’ll Love About the Annual Manufacturers’ RV Show and Sale
The beautiful grounds alone are enough to attract visitors, but the real stars here are the RVs, of course. The show boasts more than 600 different RV makes and models, both new and used. You’ll find models from some of the biggest names in the industry, like Airstream, Forest River, and Thor. It’s one of the best shows to attend if you want to check out all your options before buying an RV. You’ll get to meet with different dealers from all around the state, all under one roof. You may even stumble across a few exclusive discounts!

The Real RV Show
It seems like all the RV Shows in California are in the most beautiful towns, right? Well, The Real RV Show is no different. Both the spring and fall shows take place at the California State Fairgrounds in Sacramento, right next to the shoreline of the American River. It’s a gorgeous location to hang out, tour a few rigs, and mingle with fellow RVers. The nearby American River Parkway offers a relaxing, quiet spot to have a picnic or get away from the crowds.
What You’ll Love About the Real RV Show
The Real RV Show is dedicated to giving its attendees plenty of options. Many RV shows are put together and promoted by the RV dealers themselves, which limits the competition. The Real RV show, however, uses a third-party promoter to recruit hundreds of different dealers with hundreds of different products. That way, you get more options: dealers must bring their A-game to win your favor, which means better deals and discounts for you. Last year’s show had a huge collection of motorized RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and truck campers from dozens of dealers throughout the state. We can only imagine that 2018 will be an even bigger year.
